First, you should check with an academic advisor at the school you attend to be sure that your credits will be accepted. Then, you may register online by clicking on "Request to take CLEP" or you can call the Student Services Department at the Niceville Campus -- 850-729-6922 -- to schedule an appointment (24 hour notice is required). Active duty military may test at the Eglin Center or Hurlburt Center. To register for Eglin, call 850-729-5343 or 850-678-1717 and for the Hurlburt Center call 850-884-6724.

CLEP exams are administered at the Niceville Campus in Building C2, Room 200, as follows: Mondays 8:30 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.; Tuesdays 8:30 a.m., 1:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m.; Thursdays 1:00 p.m.; Fridays 8:30 a.m. Tests for active duty military are administered at the Eglin Center, Bldg. 251, on Tuesday & Thursday at 9:30 a.m., 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m., and at the Hulburt Center, by appointment only, on Monday and Wednesday, 9:00 a.m., 11:00 a.m., & 1:00 p.m. All tests are taken on computer and are 90 minutes in length. Generally, only one (1) exam can be taken per sitting unless prior arrangements are made.

The fee for each CLEP exam is $70 plus a $15 administration fee. You should plan to arrive 15 minutes prior to the start of the test and proceed to the Business Office in the Administration Building to pay the $15 administration fee. The $70 testing fee will be paid to the test proctor either by check (made out to CLEP) or by MasterCard, VISA, Discover, or American Express.

Active duty military testing at the Eglin Center or Hurlburt Center will be tested free of charge. If testing is completed at the Niceville campus, there is a $15.00 testing fee.

If you are testing at the Niceville campus, two (2) forms of ID must be presented along with your payment for the test. Acceptable ID’s are Driver’s license, State/Military ID, or Current Passport, plus Student/Employee photo ID, Credit card w/photo or Social Security Card. Active duty military must present their military ID card. All testing supplies will be provided. Please avoid bringing personal items, such as purses, paper/pencils, books, bookbags, etc. Do not bring food or drinks to the testing room. Cell phones, food, and drinks are NOT allowed in the testing room.

Study guides for CLEP exams are available at the College Stores or you can purchase study guides at most retail bookstores, such as Barnes & Noble, Books-a-Million, etc.

A student may not repeat a CLEP exam within six months of the testing date. Scores on tests repeated earlier than six months will be cancelled and the test scores forfeited.
