Nominate A Fellow Graduate (or yourself) For A Distinguished Alumni Award

Once a year OWC seeks to honor alumni who have distinguished themselves through professional or personal accomplishments and who possess the highest standards of integrity and character to positively reflect and enhance the prestige of Northwest Florida State College. OWC also submits Alumni nominees to state and national level awards as appropriate. Graduates, former students, faculty, and staff of Northwest Florida State College are encouraged to make nominations for the following categories. All nominees in each category should be able to identify/express the strong significance of the community college/OWC experience on his/her success.

  • Life Achievement – must be a true success story in the state or national arena
  • Rising Star – must have a success story and be under 40 years of age
  • Against the Odds – must have achieved a measure of success despite adversity (financial, sociological, physical, etc.)

Exclusions from Eligibility:
Members of the board of directors, foundation board, current members of the faculty and staff of the college are not eligible to receive alumni awards.

Nomination Format:

  1. Submit a letter establishing the candidate’s qualifications with clear and concise detail. Include as much current contact information for the nominee as possible, including current address, e-mail and phone number, if possible.
  2. Supply as much support material as possible such as the nominee’s resume/vita, additional material to substantiate the nomination and/or letters of support from others for the nomination.
