AASA Prepares Voter Registration Packets

09/19/08 - AASA (African American Students Association) met on Friday, September 19, 2008, and prepared voter registration packets aimed at encouraging participation in the upcoming election. Delivered to local establishments such as public libraries, community recreation centers, barbershops, salons, and Starbucks, the packets contained a voter registration form, 2008 voter guide booklet, a magnet that lists Okaloosa County Elections Offices contact info and election dates, and information on each candidate (sourced from the respective candidates websites). AASA will arrange for registration forms to be collected from the various locations prior to the October 6, 2008, deadline and turn them in to the Okaloosa County Elections Office.

AASA will team with SGA to hold a voter registration drive in K-Mall from 10:00 a.m. 2:00 p.m. the week of September 28, 2008.
