RadiographyRadiographers assist the physician, particularly the radiologist, in using ionizing radiation (x-rays) in diagnosis of diseases and malfunctions of the human body. The radiographer operates radiologic (x-ray) equipment under the general direction of a physician to accurately demonstrate anatomical structures on the radiograph by applying knowledge of anatomy, positioning, and radiographic technique. Radiographers are also trained to perform these duties at the patient's bedside and in the operating room.

x-ray handThe Radiography program is a two-year program consisting of four (4) academic semesters and two (2) summer sessions. All semesters consist of classroom lecture and supervised clinical experience. The program's extensive clinical experiences require the time commitment of a full-time student.

Successful completion of the program leads to an Associate of Science Degree and eligibility to take the national certification examination of the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
