Background Checks & Drug Screening

Allied Health Programs: Associate of Science in Nursing

All applicants for the Nursing Program will be selected according to the established admission criteria and selection procedure.  Admissions to the Program will be provisional, with enrollment in nursing courses contingent upon completing all pre-enrollment conditions.  Pre-enrollment conditions include, but are not limited to, a criminal background check and a drug screen.  A positive result in either requirement may result in the student’s need to withdraw from the program as area clinical agencies prohibit students with certain offenses, background history and positive drug screens from receiving clinical instruction in their facility. If withdrawn from the program, students must re-apply for the next admission cycle and are not guaranteed admission.

Students admitted to the Nursing Program must complete all pre-enrollment procedures (including the above) by the established deadline & according to established procedure as well as pay for the procedures.  Failure to complete pre-enrollment procedures in a timely manner, including payment of all required fees may also result in withdrawal from the nursing program.  If withdrawn from the program, students must re-apply for the next admission cycle and are not guaranteed admission.
