Foreign Language Requirement

New Students

According to reports from the Florida Board of Regents, eight to ten credits in a single foreign language will be required for graduation from the Florida University System. Beginning Fall 1991, the foreign language requirement must be satisfied prior to admission to a state university in Florida. Students who have successfully completed two years in high school of a single foreign language will have met the university admission requirement.

Some majors, particularly in the liberal arts and sciences at certain universities, may require completion of additional foreign language hours prior to graduation with a bachelor's degree. Please check with a counselor or academic advisor to confirm the requirements for your major at the university you choose to attend.
