Capital construction and renovations at OWCC from totaled in excess of $84.6 million.
1996
The OWCC Arts Center Complex opens. The first classes are held in the Art and Music Wings.
1997
The OWCC Arts Center Complex opens. The main theater is used for the first time. The college’s Northwest Florida Symphony Orchestra conducts the first public cultural event in the center.
1996
The Positive Retirement through Imaginative Education (Prime Time) is established and serves approximately 700 senior citizens annually with non-credit continuing education opportunities.
1994
OWCC’s men’s basketball team won the National Junior College Basketball title. That same year the women’s basketball team finished third in the nation.
1993
The OWCC Robert L.F. Sikes Center opens in Crestview.
1992
The OWCC/University of Fort Walton Beach Campus opens effective Fall semester
1990’s
OWCC received a gift of a collection of more than 350 pieces of art by Emil Holzhauer in The collection today is valued at approximately $8 million and is housed in the OWCC Art Center Galleries. The Galleries also house important Holzhauer memorabilia and resource materials.

Groundbreaking for the OWCC and University of West Florida joint campus in Fort Walton Beach -- the only full-service combined joint-campus in Florida of a community college and a state university
